Providing 250 new environmentally-friendly buses and free public transport as a solution to several problems in Skopje, such as resolving the traffic chaos, reducing air pollution, and more accessible public transport for citizens is one of the key projects of the mayor of Skopje, Danela Arsovska.
– Skopje must no longer have forgotten settlements. It is necessary for Skopje to receive free public transport and new eco buses. It is the fastest and safest solution for public transport in Skopje, unlike the Bas Rapid Transit project, which will mean additional infrastructure projects, and the realization will take years, said Arsovska.
Although it was announced in the election campaign that in the first 82 days 250 new buses and free transportation will be procured, still after 4 months, this measure has not been realized, and according to the available materials, the measure will not be realized this year either.
