The City of Skopje and the Public Enterprise Water Supply and Sewerage this year start with the realization of the project for the construction of a Wastewater Treatment Plant – Skopje, as the largest environmental project for Skopje and Skopje residents, a project worth 136 million euros.
The project will purify 90% of the water in the city. Today in the premises of PE Water and Sewerage – Skopje, the tender bids for the design and construction of this treatment plant were opened which was attended by the Mayor of Skopje, Danela Arsovska, the director of PE Water and Sewerage, Zlatko Perinski, and representatives of the European Delegation, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, European Investment Bank and Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) – IFI Coordination Office (IFICO). Mayor Arsovska stressed that the construction of this treatment plant is the largest environmental and capital project for Skopje and the people of Skopje, adding that this way will finally enable treatment of urban wastewater in accordance with EU standards.
It was foreseen in the program and we will follow the next activities regarding this project.
